Most of the Hybrid Cars depend on the alternate source of energy to get large amount of energy quickly that makes them costly and not viable for practical consumer use. Capstone has decided to use Micro Turbine Generator instead of a piston engine to deliver high performance in their latest CMT-380 supercar.

Turbines are good for continuous and fixed energy generation but that’s not what is needed in a Car that needs to vary the speed very frequently. CMT-380 is using Jet Engine to just produce the power when needed and recharge the Battery, which provides power directly to the electric motors driving the car.

Combination of Jet Engine, Battery and Electric Motor ends up in very low emission and makes it more fuel-efficient at 80 MPG. The supercar is designed to go from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and up-to a top speed of 150 MPH.
