We have been getting rumors about BBC iPhone application for their free UK online TV and radio from long time. It looks like all the waiting will be over soon, as news has been leaked from the BBC’s latest monthly press pack. Normally monthly press pack provides viewing figures and usage statistic for the iPlayer video on demand service but the latest one also shows an image of an iPlayer application running on the iPhone.

IPhone and iPod Touch owners may be able to use the free service using Safari and it will be a downloadable application. The application will be more or less like the iPlayer running on your computer. The iPhone app will allow downloading and then watching the video later on. BBC is yet to confirm about this free service and how the non-UK users will access this feature.
