I have bought a micromax Q1, if you would be kind enough to let me know what type[s] of video format does Q1 supports. On the user guide it says AVI, but it does not plays the same.

I also have the same doubt. But I got this mobile as a replacement for X114 so please dont by Micromax mobiles it has lots of issue, especially dual sim problem. After a long struggle i got the replacement for Q1 that to i paid 2500 for this mobile (additional 800 Rs + X114 Rs. 1700) but its not the real price. In south India there are some shops like poorvika, univercell they are ready to give at Rs. 2100, but i have to replace with the same dealer from whom i bought the X114. Now i am facing this video issue. Some one help me out which format of video file this Q1 will accept
I forgot to mention, In micromax service showroom they will say they has the replacement off only for those customer coming back with in a week for others they will say they will do service and give the same mobile back with the warrenty. Dont belive they has right to replace the product even though its 2 months older. The thing is u have tak to them then only they will accept.

I am listing some issues which i faces with micromax
Though Micromax Q1 has got many features the available features cannot be used effectively like Recipients receives Blank message most of the time when SMS sent from this mobile, GPRS is available but not able to download ngpay as it is not supported, Memory can be expanded but data cannot be transferred from PC or from another mobile. On the whole it has only basic features with some advance capabilities when compared with other basic feature models.
Am looking to buy it…… though a bit confused after reading above statements…….
am looking to buy micromax mobile it has interner option and it connection to computer and it has warrenty
AVI video format will work on Q1 if the size of pixel is less than 20 KB & also can open the e book file size less than 5 KB…..Whatever has written in booklet is correct but its our mistake to choose that brand….

I took this mobile, i am not able to run 3gp files, it is running like still images if i press forward button.
Ebooks are in which format. I am not able to open pdf files with 2KB file size also.
I luved this fone when i bought it. So here is why:
LUVED these:
+ QWERTY
+ only Rs.2400
+ cool duel sim
+ lots of space
HATED these:
- difficult to use
- SMS turns out blank (some issue with ASCII)
- poor sound quality while talking
- Handfree kit is a joke (ha ha ha)
- User guide is pretty unhelpful
- Data transfer problems (very bad)

micromax q1 has a cool dual sim, the data transfer by data cable is useless but i can use a memory card reader to do the task quite swiftly and easily. In kolkata it is available for Rs. 1700 to Rs. 1400.(price varies from shop to shop). it supports e-books of txt(notepad) format and the music quality is very good. The problem is the video player, how do i play it since AVI format doesnot seem to be supported ?
You will have to convert the file from AVI format to the one its supporting. there are so many softwares available for this.
please do not purchase micromax – sales are good but service is very bad
i have purchase micromax x360 – the next day i faced a problem while renaming the profiles – the phone turns off, till now service center people did nothing- customer care people did nothing, i purchased on 28-02-2010, i have gone to all the service centers in hyderabad, andhra pradesh, i have called customer care people on 18605008286 and 01244811000- but no use only waste of my phone bill and physical strain
Micromax Q1 is a cheat and this mobile is definitely not reliable. I have bought a new one and in few days it started typing the letters on its own. This cannot be controlled and even when you turn it off and back On it starts again.
I gave it to the Service Center – Calling them as Authorised Service center they kept the mobile for a week. Then they returned stating mobile it good.
In a days time the problem is seen again. The worst part is that the service center folks are not even giving the bills for the service done.
They are saying its not their practise to do so…. for these mobiles.
This is a piece shit, that I should have never bought.. No service and no guarantee………….

No we’re not given any data cable. And for transferring songs, get a memory card reader. A decent memory card reader wont cost u more than 70-80 Rs.

it is best phone its same like china phone but frm micromax (u get warranty )
u cant use it as modem
no software/game r supported in it (except built in 1)
if u want it for dual sim it is best
it also give mp3 /viedos and what els u need in 1500rs.

I have bought a Q1 Plus mobile. They told it has a USB port.
And I bought a 2GB micro SD card.??
I wonder if I can transfer Songs and Video from PC to the Phone through this.
I connected the USB and it is not getting detected by PC and only charging.
Want to know how to transfer the songs and movies to the Q1 Plus phone
Please do not but this phone. It has no features except that at Rs 1700 (Kolkata) this is a basic Dual SIM Dual Standby phone with Loud handsfree speaker and FM stero radio. But for FM you have to plugin the earphones. Go for some Samsung Guru series dual sim. Paya bit more but be assured.

Micromax Q1 is definitely not up to the expectations. Even the service center people are really below the standard.
The booklet says that Q1 can be connected to PC, it supports video files etc. I called service center, and to my surprise the executive over the line said “it has been misprinted in the booklet sir!”
